Summer Enrichment Program

The registration period for our 2023 Summer Enrichment Programs is now closed. We are excited to welcome registered participants this summer! For all other interests, please keep our programs in mind for future summers. The 2024 Summer Enrichment Programs information is anticipated to be available February 2024!

Important Dates: Summer Enrichment Program 2023

February 13:
Online brochure available for viewing. This year we will offer a variety of academic and hobby based courses for students currently in kindergarten through seventh grade.

February 20:
Online registration window begins! The online brochure will become active and registration for summer classes will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will end on March 24. If you need assistance with registration, our online registration guide will help.

March 24:
Online registration window ends! This is the last day to cancel or adjust your registration for a full refund of the class fee and materials fee. Waitlists for classes will be maintained through April 21.

April 14:
Final day to cancel your registration for a partial refund (materials fees only). The standard class fee of $175 will not be refunded.

April 21:
Final admittance of any available seats to the summer classes will be communicated during this week.

June 28:
Summer Enrichment Programs Open House event 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at school locations. More details will be communicated with registered families.

June 29:
First day of the Summer Enrichment Programs!

July 3 - 4:
No programming will take place on these days in observance of the holiday weekend.

July 28:
Last day of the Summer Enrichment Programs!

What are the D39 Summer Enrichment Programs (SEP)?
We offer a series of courses that span a variety of hobbies and interests all the way to academic intervention programs to encourage learning all through the summer. The two specialized programs that students qualify for are Review & Reinforcement and Extended School Year. Families who qualify will have received a letter with a passcode to register. Families can choose to register for all other courses including academic and hobby based class offerings.

When do the programs take place?
SEP 2023 will take place Monday through Friday beginning on June 29 through July 28, 2023. There will be no classes held on July 3 - 4 in observation of the federal holiday. Students participating in the early childhood offering attend Tuesday-Friday from 9:10 - 11:40. Please see the chart above for details.

Where will the programs take place?
Current D39 Kindergarten through 3rd grade students will attend the programs at McKenzie Elementary School, while current D39 4th through 7th grade students will attend the programs at Wilmette Junior High School.

Do I have to attend the entire half-day program?
No, you are welcome to register for any and all periods offered.

Is transportation offered?
Yes! For District 39 residents, you can purchase transportation for a flat fee of $165. This can be done on our registration website, which will become available in late February. Please note, D39 transportation is only offered before period 1 and after period 3. There is no transportation available between periods. View our SEP Transportation Guide for more information.

What is the refund policy for the summer programs?
For Summer Enrichment Programs 2023:

  • March 24, 2023 is the final day to receive a full refund of your registration (class fee and materials fee).
  • April 14, 2023 is the final day to receive a partial refund (materials fee only). The standard class fee of $175 will not be refunded.
  • April 15 - July 28, 2023 no refund is provided unless documentation of emergency medical circumstances or permanent relocation is evidenced.
