Frequently Asked Questions:
What are the D39 Summer Enrichment Programs (SEP)?
We offer a series of courses that span a variety of hobbies and interests to academic intervention programs to encourage learning all through the summer. The two specialized programs students qualify for are Review & Reinforcement and Extended School Year. Families who qualify will have received a letter with a passcode to register. Families can register for all other courses, including academic and hobby-based class offerings.
When do the programs take place?
SEP 2025 will occur Monday through Friday from July 2 through July 31, 2025. No classes will be held on July 4 in observance of the federal holiday. Students participating in the early childhood offering attend Tuesday-Friday from 9:00 - 11:00. Please see the chart above for more details.
Where will the programs take place?
Current D39 Kindergarten through 3rd grade students will attend the programs at McKenzie Elementary School, while current D39 4th through 7th grade students will attend the programs at Highcrest Middle School. Students who qualify for the Early Childhood classes will also be located at McKenzie Elementary School.
Do I have to attend the entire half-day program?
No, you are welcome to register for any and all periods offered. ESY defaults to 3 periods, but you may register and pay for SEP classes during the 3 hour block or let the Director know if you plan to attend only certain periods. We just ask that attendance is consistent for each day of the week for instructional planning purposes.
Is transportation offered?
Yes! For District 39 residents, you can purchase transportation for a flat fee. This can be done on our registration website, which will become available on February 18. Please note D39 transportation is only offered before period 1 and after period 3. There is no transportation available between periods. Fees will be confirmed soon.
What is the refund policy for the summer programs?
For Summer Enrichment Programs 2024:
- March 21, 2025 is the final day to receive a full refund of your registration (class fee and materials fee).
- May 1, 2025 is the final day to receive a partial refund (materials fee only). The standard class fee of $200 will not be refunded.
