Parent-Teacher Conferences
Elementary School Parent-Teacher Conferences are held via both video calls and in-person conferences. Video conferences are encouraged and set as the default within the registration system. Highcrest Middle School and Wilmette Junior High School Parent-Teacher Conferences, are held by video calls only, however, requests for in-person conferences will be accommodated.
Video calls will be handled through Meet the Teacher's internal video conferencing software. Please check this information on device compatibility in order to make sure you have a device with which you will be capable of attending a videoconference.
Scheduling an Appointment
To access Meet the Teacher, you will need your login code as well as the date of birth of one of your children. The login code will be emailed to you prior to the date conference signup opens.
Once logged into Meet the Teacher, choose the date on which you wish to book an appointment.
Choose whether you would prefer an in-person appointment or a video call. Highcrest Middle School and Wilmette Junior High School students are automatically set for a video call.
Choose Automatic if you'd like the system to suggest the shortest possible appointment schedule based on the times you're available to attend.
If you'd rather choose the times to book with each teacher, choose Manual. Then press Next.
We recommend choosing the automatic booking mode when browsing on a mobile phone.
Automatic Booking Mode
Drag the sliders at the top of the screen to indicate the earliest and latest you can attend.
Select the teachers you’d like to book appointments with. A green check indicates they’re selected. To de-select, click on their name.
Click the "Generate" button. You should see provisional appointments which are held for 2 minutes. To keep them, choose Accept at the bottom left.
If it wasn’t possible to book every selected teacher during the times you are able to attend, you can either adjust the teachers you wish to meet with and try again, or switch to manual booking mode.
Manual Booking Mode
Click any of the green cells to make an appointment. Blue cells signify where you already have an appointment. Grey cells are unavailable.
To change an appointment, delete the original by hovering over the blue box and clicking Delete.
After clicking on a green cell to make an appointment, a pop-up box appears where you can optionally leave a message for the teacher to say what you’d like to discuss or raise anything beforehand.
If you have students in other schools, you can switch to those conferences and schedule them at this point.
If you need to schedule a conference for a child that was not linked to the login code you used, you may add them by confirming their name and date of birth.
Video Call Appointments
If multiple parents are attending the conference, please only sign up once so as to not needlessly fill up a teacher's schedule. You can invite another person to attend the conference by clicking the "Invite Parent/Guardian" button from the My Bookings screen.
At the time of your appointment, access the system via the link in your confirmation email. A countdown clock will begin precisely at the time of your appointment and the meeting will be cut off when the clock reaches zero.
