Board of Education Meeting
The Board of Education gathered on Monday night for its monthly business meeting. Prior to the meeting, nearly 130 District 39 students were recognized as the Board hosted its inaugural Student Recognition Ceremony at Wilmette Junior High School. This special recognition event honored HMS and WJHS students for significant achievements in music (including band and choir), athletics, science (Science Olympiad), Latin (Certamen, National Latin Exam, National Mythology Exam, Exploratory Latin Exam), math (Math Olympiad and Math Counts), and writing (Daughters of the American Revolution essay competition). Thank you to all of the students and families who participated in this wonderful event!

In addition to hearing committee reports during its meeting, the Board was presented with the Community Review Committee’s final report titled “Supporting Educator Well-Being,” received the annual 2026-27 Student and Staff Planning report, and conducted a second and final reading of Board policy 8:30. Agendas and materials for Board of Education meetings are posted online the Friday prior to the meeting.
