The District 39 Board of Education unanimously approved a series of action steps for 2021-22 as the district begins implementation of its multi-year Strategic Plan: Engage, Empower, Inspire. The approval came after a presentation by D39 leadership during the Board’s regular meeting on Monday night.

This multi-year plan was the result of an in-depth evaluation and visioning process that included collaboration with representatives of all stakeholder groups. The plan provides a roadmap for District 39 to continue its excellence in education over the next five years and approval of these strategic action steps gives the District a foundation to build upon as it begins to work towards achieving the outlined goals..

“We are really excited about the vision and possibilities embedded within our new strategic plan,” said Dr. Kari Cremascoli, Superintendent of District 39. “Our 2021 action steps provide a strong foundation upon which to build success and ongoing excellence in education as we strive to accomplish the mission set forth by our community.”

“It is a strikingly impressive list of things to take on for one year,” said Amy Poehling, President of the Board of Education. “It’s very exciting and ambitious and just incredible work having seen the whole process. It is so emblematic of all of the input that we received from our whole community.”
