Ms. Hart has worked in brand management, strategic planning and consumer research, and is a proud graduate and avid supporter of public-school systems. Ms. Hart has also served in several leadership positions in local organizations, including in District 39 school PTAs.Incoming board members Bonnie Kim and Anne Hart

Dr. Steen served on the Board for eight years, including two years as Board president. His positive impact on the district’s student growth analysis, financial health, and continual work on eliminating racism while promoting inclusivity will benefit the community for years to come. During her four years on the Board, Ms. Sternweiller’s passion for improving school culture and climate, her advocacy for special education, and her focus on serving all students made District 39 a better place.

Mark Steen and Ellen Sternweiller were recognized for their service. As a show of appreciation, and following a long-standing D39 tradition, each of the exiting Board members was honored with a framed piece of student artwork that will remain hanging at the MEC.
